- The best way to find out if we’re a good fit is to contact me to set up a free Meet and Greet. During this brief meeting, I will go over the specifics of what makes my studio unique as well as answer any questions you may have.
- I offer private and buddy lessons along with quarterly group workshops. The studio term includes 35 weekly appointments from September through June. Both weekly attendance and weekly practice is expected.
TUITION for ’24-'25:
Buddy Lesson (40 minute, 2 students in the studio)............................ $100/monthly
Private Lesson 30-minute........................................................................... $108/monthly
Private Lesson 45-minute........................................................................... $160/monthly
Private Lesson 60 minute................................................................................... $204/monthly
- An annual Registration and Materials fee of $85 is assessed at the time of registration. This fee covers registration, processing fees, physical materials, recital fee, incentive programs. DSMTA festivals and requested music apps are not covered.
- Tuition for the term is payable on a monthly schedule over 10 months, September through June. Tuition reserves your weekly time slot and studio membership. It also covers the cost of lesson planning, all lesson types, and group workshops.
- Tuition will be invoiced at the end of the month and due on the 1st of the month. Tuition is payable by PayPal or auto-draft.
- A late fee of $10 will be assessed if payment is not made by the 10th of the month. Lessons are suspended if payment is not made by the third week of the month.
- Makeup lessons are not offered; however, alternative solutions may be negotiated depending on the circumstance, for example, Zoom or FaceTime lesson, pre-recorded lesson, group lesson, lesson time swap, etc.
- “No-Show” lessons are a forfeit. Repeated “no shows” will result in removal from the schedule without tuition reimbursement.
- An acoustic piano is highly recommended, but a full-sized/ 88 weighted key digital piano will be acceptable. A 61 key keyboard is not acceptable. Acoustic pianos must be tuned and good condition. I can give you recommendations on a quality instrument if you have questions. Students should have an instrument BEFORE lessons begin and have regular access to their instrument.
- Based upon the child’s age and level, I choose an appropriate study method that will advance the student through the basics of pianistic study.
- If there is a lack of progress, there is probably a lack of practice! A student’s progress is determined by dedicated practice, not by simply attending lessons. Ideally, students should practice at least 5 days a week. Students should practice long enough to complete their weekly assignments (typically 15-30 minutes depending on level). The quality of practice time is more important than the quantity of practice time.
- Students will have performance opportunities through the DSMTA festivals, group workshops, and recitals throughout the year. Attendance for recitals is highly encouraged.
- Parental involvement is crucial in the advancement and encouragement of the student. A parent doesn’t have to know how to play the piano; however, support and encouragement is so important in the learning process.
- Discontinuation of lessons requires a 2-week notice. This gives us time to wrap up any current projects and discuss how the student can continue to follow his music goals. This also allows me the necessary time to fill that empty lesson slot so that I can avoid a loss in income. Please be considerate. Sometimes lesson discontinuation is necessary. Please speak freely to me if you have concerns, are unsatisfied with lessons, or if you are considering quitting lessons.
- I will make every effort to communicate any concerns that I may encounter in order to best help the student enjoy music and progress. I reserve the right to release a student due to lack of practice, interest in piano study, or cooperation within the lesson time could possibly lead to a dismissal from my studio.
This is a brief overview of my studio set up. Feel free to contact me about a Meet and Greet to discuss lessons more deeply and answer any questions you may have.
